Gaspower Australia

Introduction

Gaspower Australia is the largest automotive liquid petroleum gas (LPG) converter in Australia, with 10 outlets in Western Australia from Perth to Bunbury. This strong market leader has enormous purchasing power and access to the best conversion products.

Gaspower is seeking Franchise and Master Franchise business partners throughout Australia to share in the remarkable growth and profitability being recorded by the company.

There is an exciting future for the company as it continues to grow offering new products and services.

With annual return on investment of 50% being experienced by Gaspower’s Franchisees, this is a rare opportunity to join a hugely successful and profitable team.

Gaspower supplies and fits the latest equipment to petrol and diesel engines to convert vehicles to using the cheaper and less polluting LPG. Standard kits are used and the components are fitted to the vehicle in a “plug and play” manner.

This company was one of the first in the industry with roots as far back as 1963 and has been a mainstay for the LPG conversion market in Western Australia for decades. However it was not until the oil price rose that it needed to establish the franchise operations to cope with the excessive demand.

The LPG conversion industry is a market with tremendous potential.

“This is a fast growing industry of the future and Gaspower is responding to the needs of its customers.”

Industry
LPG is becoming more appealing to motorists every year as an alternative fuel because Australian and international oil reserves continue to drop. Increased competition from developing countries puts enormous pressure on a limited resource.

This means the prices of petrol and diesel will continue to increase. Some economists predict the price of petrol will rise to $2.00 per litre by the end of 2009.

In March 2008, Caltex predicted Australian petrol prices could average $3.00 per litre within 3 years.

Although oil reserves are dwindling, gas reserves currently remain abundant.

Australia has 12 years worth of oil reserves and 85 years worth of gas reserves.

The State and Commonwealth Governments have an agenda to move motorists to LPG. They are making the cost of converting vehicles from petrol to LPG very attractive.

In fact, it can cost motorists next to nothing to convert! In some States, motorists receive a total of $3,000 in subsidies to change, which virtually covers the total cost of the work.

The Commonwealth government is providing a subsidy until 30 June 2014 to private motorists of $1,000 for the purchase of a new LPG vehicle or a $2,000 grant for the conversion of an existing vehicle.

LPG is also better environmentally than oil-based fuels. LPG (the generic brand name is “Autogas”) is used as a motor fuel because it has lower exhaust emissions than petrol and diesel, costs less and can reduce engine wear.

Around 2% of vehicles are running on LPG, and so there is tremendous potential to increase market share.

Autogas is available at 45% of service stations around Australia.

“The LPG conversion industry is a market with an enormous potential for continuing growth.”

Franchising

The ownership of a franchise can be beneficial in a number of ways:

Business Support - In the Gaspower franchise system new owners receive initial as well as ongoing training from the Franchisor. While there is an associated cost in terms of a franchise fee, the Franchisee will have considerable benefit from a number of services provided by the Franchisor including provision of a turnkey business system, training programs, procedure manuals, ongoing phone support and first hand assistance on-site.

Industry Knowledge - Not only does a new owner have their Franchisor as an industry professional to provide assistance but also other experienced Franchisees within the system, who know the business from the owner’s point of view.

Buying Power – As a group franchise systems gain purchasing power, allowing Franchisees to benefit from lower costs in supplies, services and equipment.

Marketing Power – As in most well-developed franchise systems the contributions of the entire franchise network enable professional marketing and advertising programs. Customers will already associate with the franchise brand and will be aware of the level of quality of products and services offered. This “brand awareness” provides an established market and customer-base for the new franchise owner.

Rate of Success – Statistically, established franchise systems increase the chances of overall business success. In Australia, the first year success rate of owners in franchise systems is more than double that of small business in general.
